The framework for the stairway to the upper level was put in place the last week of August and the step itself was cast the weekend of September 6th. There was also a small sidewalk placed from the Health Clinic out to the school and will connect to the second stairway to the second floor of the school. There was a tremendous outpouring of support on the 6th with several parents and other volunteers coming out to lend a hand. The casting of the second stairway is scheduled for Saturday Sept 20th and the PTA & St. John’s building committee are hopeful that the turnout will be even greater! Several people came together to make the beginning of this project a success.

Scotiabank Placencia Support the St. John's Memorial School Building Project!!!
Scotiabank commits itself to the community by participating in fundraising to help those that are the future of this country; the children. The Scotiabank staff fundraises throughout the year with various small raffles & other activities in order to be able to donate scholarships to the primary school students of Placencia & neighboring villages. However, this year the donation will be done to the St. John's Memorial Building Fund. The amount donated was $1,500.00 and 5 red Scotiabank backpacks for students. They were handed over to the St. John's Memorial PTA by the new Scotiabank Manager, Emil Figueroa
